I don't think parents should be notified simply because society assumes that every child has a well meaning family culture that is accepting of this. Brian Reidl, who writes some great stuff, wrote this piece in the Wall Street Journal the other day. The top 1%, by the way, which only earn 18% of all the income. Top 1% paid 40% of all income taxes. So the rich people, you say, aren't paying enough. And liberals, these are called facts. I know they bother you. I know they're little earworms and they drive you crazy. The top 1% earn 18% of the income, but pay 40% of all income taxes, one out of every hundred people. The wealthiest 1% pay forty cents out of every dollar. If that's not a fair share, what the hell is? The bottom 40% of earners had an average income tax rate of negative 6.4%. Meaning not only they pay nothing, they got money. These people live in a fantasy land. My job here is to be a Mythbuster. If we can wake up a couple of people a day, and based on our audience, we're certainly doing it.

If you're going to be paid by an employer $20 an hour, the following statement must be true. During that hour, your labor produces more for the employer that he sells at the end of the day than $20 worth, because that's why he's in the bit. If paying you 20, you went to work and you did an output that gave another 20 for him to sell, then he's got nothing out of this. He's made 20 by selling what your labor helped to produce, but he's got to give it to you. And even though he likes you, you're not going to do that. There has to be in it. Here we go.
